Every Move You Make, Every Click You Make, We’ll Be Tracking You
Are beacons innocuous? Or are they an invasion of personal privacy?
Sometimes it’s an invasion on our privacy certainly when they are filming you and when they use that technology together with your phone signal. I think that a lot of the time we don’t know that they got information from us or that they have our location. If we look at things now we have to decide that there isn’t that much privacy anymore.
Do you think your Web browsing should be known to marketers?
No certainly not. It is an advantage for them to know it but where are we going to draw the line of privacy then?
People need to have their privacy and we can't make the jobs of a marketeer to easy. They can ask for an overview of how many people visited their page etc. And they can ask if the customer want's to give them more information but we can't just give it to them. So my solution would be that they have a system that tracks the Web browsing of a customer but the customer has to give his consent first.
